Women's Tennis Splits a Sept. 18 CCIW Double-Dual with Wheaton (Ill.) and Millikin

Lady Reds Travel to Elmhurst on Sunday

The Carthage College women's tennis team (4-2, 2-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) split a Saturday, Sept. 18 CCIW double-dual match at the Smeds Tennis Center in Kenosha, Wis., losing to Wheaton College (Ill., 6-0, 3-0 CCIW), 8-1, before blanking Millikin University (1-5, 0-5 CCIW) by a 6-0 margin.

Carthage's Hollis McPeek (Jr., Lake Bluff/Lake Forest, 3-3) lost to the Wheaton's Elizabeth Worsowicz, 6-0, 6-1, at number-one singles, and Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill., 4-5) fell to the Thunder's Sara Federschmidt, 6-1, 6-1, at number-two singles. Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 4-1) lost at number-three singles, as did Kelsey Bowen (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 3-3) at number-four singles, Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 5-1) at number-five singles and Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 3-2) at number six singles.

The Lady Reds' number-one doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (6-2) lost to Wheaton, as did the number-two team of Reynolds and Bizub (2-1) and the number-three team of Weber and Kaitlyn Farrell (Sr., Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township, 2-1). Carthage travels to Elmhurst, Ill., on Sunday, Sept. 19 for a Noon CCIW-match against Elmhurst College.
