The Carthage College men's tennis team (10-6, 3-0 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) defeated CCIW-opponent North Central College (2-11, 0-2 CCIW), 6-3, at Ranchview Park in Naperville, Ill. 

Carthage's Sammy Ramoni (Sr., Honiara, Solomon Islands, 18-6) lost to the Cardinals' Sam Sweeney, Sweeney winning, 6-1, 6-0, at number-one singles. Jack Schiro (Sr., Shorewood, Wis., 11-3) defeated Matt Boguslawski, 6-2, 6-2, at number-two singles. Jeffery Lotz Jr. (Fr., Racine, Wis./Horlick, 14-9) was a winner at number-three singles, as was Matt Whiteside (So., Sacramento, Calif., Natomas Pacific Pathways Prep, 14-5) at number-four singles and J.T. Delk (Sr., Wheaton, Ill./North, 11-8) at number-five singles. Alex McLean (So., Belleville, Ill./West, 9-8) lost at number-six singles. 

Carthage's number-one doubles team of Ramoni and Lotz (11-6) lost to North Central. The Red Men's number-two team of Schiro and Schwenke (5-5) won their match, as did Carthage's number-three team of Delk and Whiteside (8-5). On Saturday, April 17, the Red Men travel to Rock Island, Ill., to play conference-opponent Augustana College (Ill., 16-7, 1-0 CCIW) in a 2 p.m. contest.
