The Carthage College women's tennis team (7-2, 4-2 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin) edged non-conference opponent Carroll University (6-5), 5-4, on Saturday, Oct. 2 at the Kilgour-Trailblazer Courts in Waukesha, Wis. 

Carthage's Hollis McPeek (Jr., Lake Bluff/Lake Forest, 6-5) defeated Carroll's Kate Rasmussen, 6-4, 6-2, at number-one singles, and Bari Reynolds (Fr., Sterling, Ill. 8-6) won over Alyssa Larson, 6-4, 6-3, at number-two singles.  Kristina Naidicz (Jr., Kenosha, Wis./Tremper, 8-3) was a winner at number-three singles.  Kelsey Bowen (Fr., Beach Park, Ill./Zion-Benton Township, 4-5) lost at number-four singles, as did Amanda Bizub (Jr., Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead, 7-2) at number-five singles and Holly Weber (Fr., Salem, Wis./Westosha Central, 3-5) at number-six singles.
 
The Lady Reds' number-one doubles team of McPeek and Naidicz (10-3) was a winner over the Pioneers, as was the number-two team of Reynolds and Bizub (5-2).  Carthage's number-three tandem of Weber and Kaitlyn Farrell (Sr., Ottawa, Ill./Ottawa Township, 4-6) lost to Carroll (Wis.).  On Friday-Saturday, Oct. 8-9, the Lady Reds travel to Moline, Ill., for the CCIW Women's Tennis Championship at the Quad City Tennis Club (9 a.m. each day).
