Manojlovic Named CCIW Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week

NAPERVILLE - Niki Manojlovic of the Carthage women's tennis team has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Tennis Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Wednesday,

Manojlovic, a junior from Skokie, Ill., went undefeated this weekend as the Firebirds earned a 5-1 victory over the Carroll Pioneers on Sunday morning in Waukesha, Wis. Manojlovic started the day by teaming up with freshman Kamila Dobija to earn a 6-2 win in No. 1 doubles against Katherine Trifilio and Nawal Souki. Manojlovic then earned a second win in No. 1 singles, besting Trifilio by a final score of 6-2, 6-3.

On the season so far, Manojlovic posts a combined record of 4-3 with a singles record of 1-1 and a doubles record of 3-2. All five doubles matches were played with Dobija.

The Firebirds (2-0, 2-0 CCIW) return to action on Sept. 25 at the ITA Regional Tournament in St. Peter, Minn. The Firebirds home opener will be Wednesday, Sep. 30 when Carthage hosts Wheaton (Ill.) at Smeds Tennis Center at 1:30 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
