Dettwiler Claims Back-to-Back CCIW Weekly Honors

NAPERVILLE - Ava Dettwiler of the Carthage women's volleyball team has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Volleyball Setter of the Week for the second consecutive week, the conference announced Monday.

Dettwiler, a junior from La Crosse, Wis., led the Firebirds offense with 167 assists, averaging 6.68 assists per set, along with 62 digs, 51 kills, nine blocks, and nine service aces.

Dettwiler also reached 1,000 career assists on Friday against Lawrence and was named "Most Outstanding Athlete" at the St. Norbert Chick-Fil-A Invitational.

The Firebirds will return to action on Tuesday, Sept. 15 as the team is set to compete in the Edgewood Triangular. Carthage will face Edgewood at 4 p.m. before facing No. 1 Wis-Oshkosh at 6 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
