Carthage Women's Soccer Selected Third in Preseason Poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. —The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) released its 2026 Women's Soccer Coaches' Poll. The Firebirds come in at third place with 45 points, moving up six places from last preseason poll.

Carthage finished 8-6-5 overall, with a 4-2-2 record in conference. In the final game of the season, the Firebirds battled Elmhurst in a 1-1 draw before falling (6-5) in a penalty shootout. After graduating six seniors, Carthage looks to recharge with fourteen incoming freshmen.

The Firebirds will open the season at home on Art Keller Field against Edgewood on September 1 at 5:00 p.m. The first away game will take place at Lawrence in Appleton, Wisconsin, on September 3 at 6 p.m. Carthage will return home facing Mount St. Joseph, September 6 at 6 p.m. Firebirds will begin conference play against Millikin on Art Keller Field for Senior Day, September 26 at 2 p.m.
