KENOSHA — The Carthage College men's volleyball team moved up one spot to No. 3 in the latest American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division III Poll, released April 7, as the Firebirds prepare for postseason play.
Carthage enters the week with a 20-3 overall record and a 9-1 mark in College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin play, securing the program's third consecutive CCIW regular-season title. The Firebirds will open the conference tournament Wednesday, April 8, hosting No. 4 seed North Central (Ill.) at 7 p.m.
Nationally, Carthage continues to rank among the top programs in multiple statistical categories, sitting second in hitting percentage (.329), fifth in kills per set (13.08) and fifth in assists per set (12.10). Carthage climbed to No. 3 with 540 points after being ranked fourth a week ago.
