NAPERVILLE - The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) announced its Women's Lacrosse Student-Athletes of the Week. Taylor Ruf of the Carthage Women's Lacrosse team was named Defensive Student-Athlete of the Week for the CCIW, the conference announced Tuesday. 

Ruf, a Junior from White Bear Lake, Minnesota, helped the Firebirds' defense limit the Aurora Spartans to two goals this past Saturday. In the win against the Spartans, Tuf recorded six caused turnovers, while also collecting six ground balls. 

The Firebirds will return to action on their spring break trip out west to Washington. The Firebirds will play two games against Whitman (March 12) and Whitworth (March 13). Both games will start at 6 p.m. PST. For more information, visit our athletics.carthage.edu.
