Hollendoner Named CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week for Women's Wrestling

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Alaina Hollendoner of the Carthage women's wrestling team has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Wrestling Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.

Competing at 124 pounds in the event hosted by Augustana on Saturday, Hollendoner delivered a strong showing against regional competition. Her day was highlighted by a 10-0 technical fall over Augustana's Hannah Suboni-Kaufman, who entered the matchup ranked fifth in Region 5 and among the league's top contenders. Hollendoner also picked up a 6-4 decision against Kyna Moffit of Augustana, helping Carthage build an early 13-7 advantage in its dual with the Vikings.

The Firebirds return to action on Sunday, Jan. 11 at the Lakeland Muskie Scramble in Plymouth, Wis. Action is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
