Curulewski Claims CCIW Student-Athlete of the Week Honors for Men's Cross Country

NAPERVILLE, Ill. - Jacob Curulewski of the Carthage men's cross country team has been named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Cross Country Student-Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Curulewski, a senior from Downers Grove, Ill., came away with his second victory in as many races on Saturday, Sept. 20 at the Wheaton (Ill.) Gil Dodds Invitational at St. James Farm in Warrenville, Ill. Cururlewski cruised to victory in 24:41.0 over the 8,000-meter course, beating the rest of the field by 17.7 seconds. Curulewski was also the individual champion at the Wis-Parkside Vic Godfrey Open on Sept. 5.

The Firebirds return to action on Friday, Oct. 3 as the squad heads to Colfax, Wis. to compete in the Wis-Eau Claire Blugold Invite. For more information, visit athletics.carthage.edu.
