KENOSHA — The Carthage College men's basketball program has been honored by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for excellence in the classroom during the 2024-25 academic year. The Firebirds earned a Team Academic Excellence Award, and six individual student-athletes were named to the NABC Honors Court, recognizing standout academic achievement among collegiate men's basketball student-athletes.
To receive the Team Academic Excellence Award, programs must record a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher during the academic year. Carthage was one of nearly 400 programs across all levels of college basketball to earn the distinction.
In addition, the NABC Honors Court celebrates junior, senior, and graduate student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. Six Carthage players earned a spot on the 2024-25 Honors Court:
Adam Kemp (Jr., Finance)
AJ Johnson (Sr., Mathematics)
AJ Williams (Jr., Finance)
Mason Miller (Jr., Marketing)
Patrick Laurich (Jr., Finance)
Ryan Grantham (Sr., Data Science)
"Education is one of the NABC's five core values, and we are proud to recognize the academic accomplishments of these programs and individual student-athletes across our sport," said NABC Executive Director Craig Robinson. "The dedication and hard work of these athletes, along with their coaches and support staff members who prioritize academic success, deserves to be widely celebrated."
