Carthage Falls to Illinois Wesleyan Despite Late Push on Senior Day

KENOSHA – Illinois Wesleyan capitalized on early offense and a steady pitching effort to hand Carthage College a 9-4 loss Friday afternoon at Augie Schmidt Field, pulling even atop the CCIW standings. The Titans pushed across six runs through the first three innings and held off a late Firebirds push.

How it Happened 
  • Zander Tubbs brought Carthage within four in the third with a two-run homer to left, and P.J. Moser added an RBI double in the fifth to cut the deficit to 6-3. 
  • Evan Devine capped the scoring in the ninth with a run-scoring double to right-center.
  • Despite outhitting the Titans 12-9, the Firebirds committed three errors and struggled to contain Illinois Wesleyan's early surge.
