DECATUR — The Carthage College women's golf team finished third at the Take Back the Night Invitational on April 26 with a team score of 652 (336+316) at Red Tail Run Golf Club. The Firebirds were one of nine teams competing, and the tournament was hosted by Millikin.
Lexi Manteufel and Alina Brindza paced the Firebirds, tying for fourth overall with matching scores of 157. Manteufel posted rounds of 78 and 79, while Brindza shot 80 and 77 across the two-day event.
Abigail Bocock tied for 19th after improving by nine strokes between rounds, finishing with a 169 (89+80).
Ro Longden and Mae Norman each tied for 21st, both carding a 170. Longden improved from an 89 to an 81, while Norman cut ten strokes from her first-round 90 to finish with an 80.
