ORLANDO – The Carthage men's tennis team concluded their trip to Florida with a pair of matches against Calvin and Transylvania. The Firebirds cruised to victory over Calvin in the morning match before shutting out Transylvania to end spring break on a high note.

 

VS CALVIN

In doubles play, Elios Briand and Myles Krzewinski defeated Rodrigo Alipio and Mario Neto 7-6 (7-3). Cooper Ferruzzi and Francisco Silveira earned a 6-2 win over Ryan Broek and Felipe Sartori. Cyriac Cayuela and Finn Morris suffered a 6-3 loss to Tanner Warners and Corwin Kim. 

In singles play, Krzewinski fell to Alipio 7-6 (7-3), 6-0. Silveira defeated Caleb Bartels 6-4, 6-3. Briand utilized a pair of 6-3 victories to defeat Sartori. Diego Silva earned a 1-6, 7-6 (7-3), (10-1) victory over Broek. Ferruzzi defeated Neto 6-3, 7-6 (7-4). Cayuela earned the win over Emmanuel Henao Estrada with a score 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

VS TRANSYLVANIA

In doubles play, Briand and Krzewinski cruised to a 6-1 victory over Chase Moreman and Alejandro Perez. Ferruzzi and Silveira earned a 6-2 victory over Tobias Mandeville and Jordan Cordrey. Cayuela and Morris defeated Jacob Jiranek and Jacob Cooper 6-2.

In singles play, Silveira defeated Jiranek 6-2, 6-0. Silva used a pair of 6-1 victories to earn the win over Perez. Ferruzzi won by forfeit over Moreman. Cayuela defeated Mandeville 6-0, 7-6 (7-5). Morris claimed the win over Jonathan Kepnes with a pair of 6-2 victories. Luca Okino earned the win over Luke Earlywine with a 6-4, 6-2 final score.
