Carthage 5, Transylvania 2
KISSIMMEE – The Carthage women's tennis team returned to action on Wednesday evening for their second match of the week in Florida. The Firebirds faced off against the Transylvania Pioneers and came away with the seventh win of the season.

 

DOUBLES PLAY

Sasha Manojlovic and Giovanna Mendes suffered a 6-4 loss to Katherine Taylor and Maria Hayes. Xingchen Liu and Maddie Kearney earned a 6-4 win over Ellie Held and Paulina Razo-Zapata. Niki Manojlovic and Greta Peterson were defeated by Lilly Hartman and Maddy Williams with a score of 6-4.

SINGLES PLAY

Liu earned the win over Taylor 6-4, 7-5. S. Manojlovic claimed a hard fought victory over Razo-Zapata with a score of 1-6, 6-2, (10-5). Mendes suffered a 6-2, 3-6, (12-10) loss to Hayes. Peterson defeated Williams 4-6, 7-5, (10-8). Kearney defeated Eva Clark 6-2, 6-0. N. Manojlovic earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Meredith Cooper.
