ADDISON — The Carthage College women's bowling team closed out its fall schedule this past weekend at the Warhawk Open, hosted by Wisconsin-Whitewater at Stardust Bowl, finishing in eleventh place in a competitive field of 28 teams.
The event opened Saturday with five traditional games, featuring 180 individual bowlers. Senior
Isabel Gonzalez highlighted the day with a standout sixth-place finish, averaging 186.8 and rolling a 231 game. She missed all-tournament recognition by just three pins.
Sophomore
Airie Frost also delivered a strong showing, placing 21st with a 174.8 average that included a 220 game. Sophomore
Emma Winter followed in twenty-sixth, averaging 172.8 with a 224 game. Sophomore
Alicyn Klok finished 68th, while freshman
Torin Deacon placed seventy-sixth to round out the lineup.
Sunday's schedule featured sixteen Baker games, where the Firebirds continued to post steady production. Klok and Frost each recorded an 87.5 single-pin conversion rate, followed by Winter at 85.7 and Gonzalez at 83.3. Winter led the team in strike percentage at 35.2, with Frost close behind at 34.2.
The weekend marked continued growth for the Firebirds as they conclude the fall portion of their season. Carthage College returns to action after winter break at the Storm Baker Challenge, set for January 10 and 11 at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Ill.
