Women’s Soccer Earns Road Draw Against Carroll

WAUKESHA – The Carthage College women's soccer team battled to a 0–0 draw against Carroll University on Wednesday evening at Schneider Stadium.

The Basics
  • Final Score: Carthage 0 - Carroll 0
  • Location: Waukesha, Wis., Schneider Stadium
  • Records: Carthage (6-4-3) (2-0-1), Carroll (4-3-4) (1-2-1)

How it Happened
  • Goalkeeper Ainsley Stallworth anchored the Firebirds' defense with a stellar eight-save shutout, marking her third clean sheet of the season. Despite the Pioneers outshooting Carthage 19–8, the Firebirds held firm defensively, with Ruby Hillegass, Sarah Gorder, Maya Stone, and Maddie Mahon playing key roles in limiting the Pioneers' scoring chances.
  • Carthage's best opportunity came late in the first half when Hillegass earned a penalty kick, but her attempt was denied by Carroll goalkeeper Nevaeh Darby. Offensively, Peyton Olinski, Emma Amberg, and Bella Fusco each recorded shots on goal as the Firebirds pushed for the game-winner.
High Flyers
  • The Firebirds collected 19 shots, eight of which were shots on goal.
  • Stallworth held down the net, collecting eight saves.
