Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Augustana on the Road

ROCK ISLAND – Carthage College women's soccer traveled to Augustana for a mid-week conference matchup. The Firebirds earned a hard-fought 1-0 road victory over the Vikings on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
  • After a scoreless first half, Malie Cassel delivered the game-winning goal in the 55th minute, finishing off assists from Lydia Sachs and Maya Lanier. 
  • The Firebirds controlled possession throughout, outshooting the Vikings 19–7 and recording 10 shots on goal to Augustana's four.
High Flyers
  • The Firebirds collected 19 shots, 10 of which were shots on goal.
  • Ainsley Stallworth collected four saves, anchoring the back line, securing her third shutout of the season.
