ELMHURST, Ill. – The Carthage College women's soccer team wrapped up its regular-season road slate on Saturday afternoon, falling 3–1 to Elmhurst in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play at Langhorst Field.

Elmhurst struck first in the 33rd minute, as Emily Herlihy found the back of the net to give the Bluejays a 1–0 advantage heading into halftime.
The hosts doubled their lead early in the second half when Courtney Conlon scored in the 51st minute off an assist from Kelli Coughlin.
Carthage cut the deficit in half in the 68th minute, with
Eve Hockerman converting for her fourth goal of the season. However, Elmhurst quickly responded in the 73rd minute as Lauren Nevins scored on a setup from Conlon and Ellie Muscarello to seal the match.
The Firebirds totaled 10 shots and six shots on goal.
Goalkeepers
Ainsley Stallworth and
Vickie Engel combined for five saves over 90 minutes in net.
Maya Stone led Carthage with three shots, including two on goal, while Hockerman recorded the lone Firebird tally.
