Women’s Soccer Drops 4-0 Decision Saturday Night Against North Central

KENOSHA – Carthage College women's soccer dropped a 4–0 decision to visiting North Central on Saturday night at Art Keller Stadium in a CCIW matchup. Despite the final score, the Firebirds held strong early, keeping the game scoreless for nearly 40 minutes before North Central broke through late in the first half.

How it Happened
  • Carthage generated nine shots in total, including four on goal, led by Bella Fusco, Maya Stone, and Sarah Gorder, who each recorded two attempts. Fusco nearly put the Firebirds on the board in the 33rd minute, striking the crossbar off a corner kick.
  • Defensively, Sarah Gorder, Maya Stone, and Maddie Mahon played the full 90 minutes on the back line, helping hold North Central to just one goal through the opening 40 minutes before a late surge by the Cardinals.
High Flyers
  • The Firebirds collected 9 shots, four of which were shots on goal.
  • Ainsley Stallworth and Vickie Engel both saw action in goal, recording saves for the Firebirds.
  • The Firebirds recorded two corner kicks on the night.
