KENOSHA — The Carthage College men's soccer team fell 3-0 to Wisconsin-Whitewater on Sunday evening at Art Keller Field.

- The Firebirds' defense was tested early and often, as the Warhawks fired off 16 shots in the opening half.
- Despite the pressure, goalkeeper Aaron The kept Carthage in the match with six saves in the first half alone, helping send the teams into halftime scoreless.
- Wisconsin-Whitewater broke through in the 58th minute when the visitors' curling corner kick found its way directly into the net to give the visitors a 1-0 lead.
- The Warhawks added two more goals just minutes apart, scoring in the 77th minute and capitalizing on a takeaway inside the box less than a minute later to make it 3-0.
- Aaron The finished the night with 12 saves while playing the full 90 minutes in goal for the Firebirds.

"It was a contrast of playing styles tonight, and we needed to work a little harder to ensure that our passing game was successful. As our last non-conference game, it was a good opportunity to get playing time for guys who needed experience, and that will help for the CCIW run-in."
