"Today was a really great day for our team. We have been needing guys to step up with players out of the lineup, and today, that happened in a big way.
Chad Kohlmann got the team off to a great start with a perfect first.
James Keiser and
Johnny Lane really helped ignite some momentum on the offensive side.
Andrew Frey, not even close to 100 percent, had big plays every time Dubuque crept back in it. The attack at DU was very good, and while we didn't have our best day on defense, I thought our guys were physically and mentally resilient this afternoon and made big stops when needed. I have been really hard on the team this past week and am very proud of how the entire team has responded."
- The Firebirds return home facing Concordia (Wis.) on Wednesday, March 20 at 7 p.m.
