Football Sends Seniors Out on a High Note with Hard-Fought Win over North Park

KENOSHA  — The Carthage College football team sent the 2024 Seniors out in style as the team earned a hard-fought conference win over North Park 22-21 in their last home game of the season. 

The Basics

  • Records: Carthage 2-6 (2-5 CCIW), North Park 5-3 (4-3 CCIW)


How it Happened 
  • Carthage opened the scoring with an eight-play, 67-yard drive capped by a 15-yard touchdown run from Bryce Lowe.
  • With 5:50 remaining in the first quarter, North Park evened the score at seven, but Lowe responded with a four-yard touchdown pass to Mark Hunter, putting Carthage back in the lead at 14-7.
  • North Park held a 21-14 lead at halftime.
  • Michael Sneed's hand kept it close as he blocked a 32-yard field goal attempt in the fourth.
  • With momentum, Carthage narrowed the gap after a Vikings punt set up a quick, three-play, 62-yard drive, ending in an 18-yard touchdown run by Hunter.
  • The Firebirds succeeded on a two-point conversion as Lowe rushed up the middle, stretching the ball across the goal line making it 22-21.
  • Carthage forced a turnover on downs but was then forced to punt with 52 seconds remaining.
  • The Firebirds' defense held firm on the final Viking's drive, allowing Carthage to secure the win at home.
