Firebirds Defeat North Central in Double-Digit Win at Home

KENOSHA, Wis. - In Wednesday's College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action, the Carthage College women's basketball team defeated North Central 67-42.

How it Happened
  • Carthage got off to a quick offensive start, going on a nine-point run in the first quarter to gain an 11-2 lead over North Central. 
  • The Firebirds maintained the momentum throughout, with a three-point shot from Lauren Knight in the final seconds solidifying Carthage's double-digit lead, 20-6, over North Central. 
  • Lauren Knight opened the second quarter with a made jumper and three-pointer in the first three minutes of play, extending the lead to 25-3. 
  • Carthage ended the first half on the line with a three-point play from Addison Ebeling to improve the lead to 33-18. 
  • The Firebirds held onto a nine-point lead, 36-27, in the third quarter with six minutes left and maintained the pace throughout. 
  • Carthage entered the fourth quarter leading 50-33 and ended the night with a 67-42 win over North Central.
