WAUKESHA, Wis. - In the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) action on Wednesday, the Carthage College women's basketball team fell to No. 25 Carroll 90-58 on the road.

• Records: Carroll14-3 ( 7-1 CCIW), Carthage 10-7 (3-5 CCIW)

• Elena Knebel got the Firebirds started with four points in the first three minutes, putting the Carthage two possessions behind Caroll, 10-4. 
• A three-pointer from Lauren Knight in the final two minutes of the first period bridged Caroll's lead to one point, 18-19.
• The Firebirds trailed 21-26 going into the second quarter.  
• A pair of free throws from Margueret Spear kicked off the Firebirds' offensive effort, making it a one-possession game, 28-25, with eight minutes to go.
• The Firebirds struggled to build on the offensive momentum and found themselves trailing 46-27 at the end of the first half. 
• Lauren Knight got the Firebirds started with a three-pointer, 52-29, with four minutes left in the third period.
• Layups by Marianna Morrisey and Grace Cord would be the Firebird's final offensive effort before entering the final period of play trailing 73-42.
• Carthage ended the night with a 58-90 loss against Carroll. 

• Lauren Knight led with 16 points while Marianna Morrissey chipped in with nine points and five rebounds. 
• Grace Cord added four rebounds, Margueret Spear and Grace Wamser added to the defensive effort. 

• Carthage will continue CCIW play by hosting Elmhurst(Ill.) on Saturday, January 27 at 2 p.m.
