Coachs Remarks
"I am really proud of our group today. That was a tough Lakeland team; they gave us everything we could handle. I was so excited to see our team fight back after losing a close first set. We kept believing in ourselves and the volleyball we can play. Seasons are never defined by their good days but by the days when you must battle, grind, and trust each other.

Mitch Geiger was great today and contributed so many phases outside of his offense. Owen Hendricks was vital in keeping us steady and positive in a difficult situation. Gene McNulty brought some awesome leadership throughout the match and kept us marching forward. Ryan Cholewinski is leading the team in block and kills today is inspiring. When a middle leads the team in kills, you know the entire group is doing their jobs in pursuit of winning.

We needed this match. We needed to get punched. We needed to battle. I'm excited about this season and for the positivity this team attacks with every situation we get put in."

Team Results
  • The Firebirds head to California for a three-game slate starting Friday, January 19, with matches against Cal Lutheran and NYU.
