"The kids played hard today, but we didn't execute on either side of the ball in critical situations. We couldn't get off the field in 3rd and long on defense and couldn't stay on the field on offense. They went 1-3 in the red zone on offense and gave up three scores on defense. We have played three really good football teams to start the year. Combined, all three went 32-4 last year and are all undefeated this year. We need to get back to work, keep improving on both sides of the ball, and go 1-0 this next week."
- The Firebirds return home for homecoming which takes place on Saturday, September 30.
- Carthage takes on Elmhurst with kickoff set for 1 p.m.
