Women's Soccer Ends in Draw with Marian

KENOSHA, Wis.- The Carthage women's soccer team played their second home contest this weekend at Art Keller Field on Sunday as the Marian University (Wis.) Sabres came to town. After a scoreless first half, the Firebirds fought till the end to finish the game in a 1-1 draw.

How it Happened 
  •  After the first half, the score was tied 0-0. 
  • Jess Beymeyer scored the incredible single goal for Carthage at the 71:05 mark, the long-distance assist was from third-year, Maggie Thom. 
  • Emily Gordillo scored the solo goal for Marian (Wis.) to tie the game at 86:54 on the clock.
  • The final score was 1-1 after 90 minutes of play.

High Flyers
  • Jess Beymeyer booted in her first goal of the season.
  • Maggie Thom obtained her first assist of the season with a long pass down the field to create an opportunity for Beyemyer to score. 
  • Ainsley Stallworth, the second-year goalie, completed four saves during the game.
