KENOSHA, Wis. - Continuing to sharpen its performance ahead of the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, a select group of athletes from the Carthage Firebirds women's track & field team spent the weekend in two different locations.
Some student-athletes spent Thursday and Friday in Naperville for North Central College's Gregory Invitational, including both
Alexis Mattox and
Katelyn Smith - who took first place in the hammer and the 5,000-meter run, respectively. Mattox and other field athletes also participated in the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invite in Joliet, Illinois between both Friday and Saturday.

- In its last meet before the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, Carthage will head to Rock Island, Illinois for Augustana College's Augustana Twilight on Thursday, May 18.
