WHITEWATER, Wis. - In the team's final tune-up event before the 2023 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Waukesha next weekend, the Carthage Firebirds women's track & field team spent Friday afternoon at UW-Whitewater's Drake Alternative.
First-year sprinter
Anna Kegel had a successful day, taking first in the 100-meter dash. Today's mark of 12.55 gave Kegel a PR, narrowly edging out her previous mark of 12.56 - set in Wheaton two weeks ago. The first-year phenom ranks in the top ten in program history in the 100-meter.
"Today was a great tune up for the conference meet. We had many solid performances that will give us confidence to compete well next weekend. The team is ready and we are looking forward to a great competition," said Carthage College head women's track & field coach
Stephanie Domin.
