NAPERVILLE, Ill.- Following a terrific performance at the Wheaton Invitational on Saturday, junior thrower
Aubrey Schoeneman was named as the CCIW Women's Outdoor Field Student-Athlete of the Week.
Schoeneman, a recipient of the indoor field student-athlete of the week award during indoor track & field season, nabs her first-career honor during outdoor season after recording lifetime bests in the discus and shot put. The native of Mercer, Wisconsin took first in the discus by throwing 44.67 meters; this mark propelled Schoeneman up to seventh in the nation in the event and is also the eighth furthest throw in the event in program history.
Though the star didn't take first in shot put in Wheaton, Schoeneman's mark of 14.00 meters was good enough for a second-place finish. The mark of 14.00 meters puts Schoeneman at eighth in the nation and sixth in program history in the event.
Schoeneman is Carthage's first recipient of the CCIW Women's Outdoor Field Student-Athlete of the Week award since
Nicole Tarpley took home the honor in March of 2021.
