"This weekend was an incredible test for our Firebirds," remarked Carthage College head women's golf coach
John Sams.
"I was very proud of how hard the team played, especially on Sunday with the bitter cold weather. Playing with 14 other teams ranked in the top 45 in the country was an invaluable experience."
"Abby Bocock fired a personal-best 87 and is progressing very well; I was pleased with her course management this weekend."
- Originally scheduled to host a number of teams at the Firebird Spring Invitational this Monday, rain in Monday's forecast has now shifted the Firebirds' next event. With a new date still to be set for the Firebird Spring Invitational, Carthage's next event will likely be Millikin University's Take Back the Night Challenge this weekend. The event will take place at South Side Country Club in Decatur, Illinois from Friday, April 21 through Saturday, April 22.
