RICHARDSON, Tex. - Led for the first time by newly-hired head women's golf coach
John Sams, the Carthage Firebirds competed at the Texas Cup - hosted by UT-Dallas. The field of nine was full of excellent teams, mostly from around the Dallas area. Carthage was led once again by the phenomenal tandem of
Lorelei Oomens (T11) and
Alina Brindza (T18).
- Result: Ninth place out of nine teams.

"The women's golf team enjoyed getting outside for the first tournament of the season," noted newly-minted head women's golf coach
John Sams.
"In windy, cold conditions at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Dallas, the team competed hard. The Firebirds were led by
Lorelei Oomens shooting a 79-85, finishing tied for 11th, and
Alina Brindza shooting an 89-82, finishing tied for 18th."
- The Firebirds compete again in two weeks, traveling to Galena, Illinois for Clarke University's Spring Invite. The invite will take place from Monday, April 3 through Tuesday, April 4.
