Coachs Remarks

"Coming off an average weekend at the Aurora Grand Prix last week, we were very pleased with today's performances by the women's team," said Carthage Firebirds head women's track & field coach Stephanie Domin. "We put together a great meet in all areas. It was definitely a total team effort today. The team had 31 personal best today and a few other season bests sprinkled in."

"Abbey Calhoun had a stellar meet today, winning the long jump with a mark of 17-5 1/2. This moves her up to tenth on Carthage's all-time list. Abbey also competed in her first indoor pole vault of the year with a PR of 10-8.75. This mark puts her seventh on the Carthage all-time list."

"Katelyn Smith had an amazing 3000-meter run with a huge personal best of 10:40.70. She ran this race smart and essentially by herself. This puts her fifth on the all-time Carthage list."

"Teagan Johnson had a great first pentathlon on Friday and had four PRs to finish fifth."

"We had many personal bests from the throwers, jumpers and distance crew this weekend. We are very proud of the team this weekend in the events they competed in and the energy and positive attitude they brought to the meet!"

"We look forward to carrying this momentum into next Saturday at the Midwest Elite Invite at UW- Whitewater."
