Morrissey Leads Firebirds to Victory Over Alverno

KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carthage women's basketball team defeated Alverno 83-41 in a regular season match-up.

How it Happened

  • The Firebirds started the first quarter with a strong offensive start, going on an 8-0 run with eight minutes to go. 

  • A three-pointer from Grace Wamser in the final seconds of the opening period, secured Carthage's double-digit lead, 30-13, over Alverno. 

  • The Firebirds maintained their momentum throughout the second quarter, and went into halftime leading 47-22. 

  • Carthage held on to the lead, and another three-point play by Grace Wamser put the Firebirds' up 69-32 heading into the final period. 

  • The Firebirds doubled their lead in the fourth quarter, securing a 83-41 win over Alverno.
