Firebirds Tie 1-1 against No. 10 UChicago



CHICAGO, Ill. - The Carthage men's soccer team took a break from College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) play, by taking on No.10 UChicago (Ill.) in a non-conference matchup. Carthage and UChicago tied 1-1 on Wednesday evening.

How it Happened
  • UChicago got on the board first in the first five minutes of the contest. 
  • Carthage responded with a goal from Samuel Riano in the 12th minute of the game. 
  • With an offensive battle underway, the Firebirds saw four corner kicks and two shot attempts in the first half. 
  • On defense, Carthage's Thomas Howard IV added one save in the first 45 minutes. 
  • In the second half, the Firebirds saw one save from Thomas Howard IV and one shot attempt.
  • Carthage ended the game with a 1-1 tie against UChicago.
