NAPERVILLE, Ill. - The Carthage men's soccer team fell 6-2 on the road against North Central (Ill.) on Saturday afternoon.

• Final score: North Central 6 - Carthage 2 

• Location: Naperville, Ill. - Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium

• Records: North Central 11-1-1 (2-0-1 CCIW) - Carthage 7-3-2 (2-1-1 CCIW)

• The Firebirds got off to a slow start, trailing 1-0 in the first 15 minutes. 

• Before the end of the first half, Carthage evened out the score, 1-1, in the 38th minute as Jack Georgi scored for the visitors.

• North Central extended their lead quickly in the second half, leaving Carthage trailing 4-1 going into the 52nd minute. 

• The Firebirds quickly responded with a goal in the 55th minute, diminishing the lead to 4-2. 

• North Central found the net three more times, Carthage fell 7-2. 

• Nick Washelesky led with four saves, and Thomas Howard IV ended the game with two saves.

"In the same week we see our best performance of the season and our worst. We did not show up today and a good team like North Central punished us for it. We need to take it on the chin and find a way to come back stronger."
