AURORA, Ill. - The Carthage College women's track & field program, recently ranked as the 11th-best team in the North Region by the U.S Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA), took part in a competitive meet this Saturday.
For the fourth time in five meets this season, junior thrower
Aubrey Schoeneman took first in the shot put. Today, Schoeneman threw 13.20m to take the victory.
Christina Hall and
Abbey Calhoun were impressive once again, as both took second in their respective jumps (Hall; long jump, Calhoun; triple jump). Senior
Alexis Mattox finished in the top three in both the shot put and the weight throw.

"This was a very competitive meet for the team today," noted Carthage College head women's track & field coach
Stephanie Domin.
"There were a few positive performances that we are excited about, but we need to be in a better space mentally and physically to reach our goals in a month. I am confident the team will work hard and be ready for these goals."

Anna Kegel finished fifth in the 60-meter dash with a lifetime best of 7.91 seconds, which moves her up to eighth all-time in program history. She also recorded a lifetime best in the 200m."

Kylie Smith ran a lifetime best in the 3000-meter run with a time of 10:47.54, which breaks her into the program's top-ten list at number eight all-time."

- Carthage returns home for the two-day Tadd Metzger Invite and Multi, which will take place on Friday, February 3 at 3 p.m. and Saturday, February 4 at 9 a.m.
