KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carthage College Firebirds women's soccer team lost 4-0 to the visiting Illinois Wesleyan Titans on Saturday evening at Art Keller Field. The loss brings Carthage's overall record to 0-4-4 and starts the Firebirds with a 0-1 record in CCIW play.

• Illinois Wesleyan got off to a hot start, courtesy of a Caelyn Steffens 4th-minute goal. 
• The Titans tacked on two additional goals over the next ten minutes to expand their lead to 3-0 early on in the contest. IWU outshot the Firebirds 15-2 in the first 45 minutes of action. 
• Carthage was able to apply more pressure offensively in the second half of play- taking three more shots in the latter half- but was unable to score on Wesleyan goalkeeper Kayla Borg. 
• Illinois Wesleyan scored a late goal to bring the score to 4-0. 

 

• First-year defender Maya Stone took the first two shots of her career in the game. 
• Junior defender Veronica Walker also took the first two shots of her career against the Titans- one of them on goal. 
• First-year forward Jess Beymer recorded another shot in this evening's matchup. Beymer has now taken a shot in seven consecutive games. 

 

• Carthage continues its conference slate with a home matchup against Augustana College (Ill.) on Saturday, October 1 at 3 p.m.
