EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Ending their four game road schedule, the Carthage College men's soccer team took an early lead but fell to Wisconsin-Eau Claire 3-1 Saturday afternoon.

• Records: Wisconsin-Eau Claire 8-0, Carthage 2-3-1

 

• A Mickey Reilly kick goal for Carthage put them out in front early in the first half. 
• After the Firebirds controlled a 1-0 margin into halftime, Wisconsin-Eau Claire tied it at one off a penalty kick. 
• In the 62nd minute, the home team took the lead as another goal in the 89th minute sealed the victory. 

 

• Mickey Reilly scored his second goal of the season and has scored in back-to-back games for the Firebirds.
• Mickey Reilly and Nick Renfro led Carthage in shots with four. 
• In goal, Tino Korhonen made three saves in the contest. 

"We started off with good intensity and controlled the first half well," said head coach Paul Leese. "We had good opportunities and should possibly have been more than 1-0 up. Our second half performance was below par and we were punished for our mistakes."
