JANESVILLE, Wis. — After the first round was canceled due to weather conditions, the Carthage college women's golf team would tie for second of 16 on day two at Whitewater University's Spring Fling. The Firebirds tied with host Whitewater as they shot 322, 18 strokes behind Washington University in first.
Senior Kate Munro led the way for the team shooting 77 (+5) to tie for fifth individually. Freshman Lorelei Oomens carded 79 (+7) to tie for ninth, while Adrinne Rohwedder and Madi McCoy tied for 17th with 83 (+11).
Carthage's secondary scorecard ended with 344 collectively, led by Katie Wachowiak who shot 82 (+10) to tie for 15th.
The Firebirds will compete next at The Battle of the Birds event again hosted by Carthage on May 1. The match will be held at the nearby Ives Groves Golf Links with a start time of 11 A.M.
