Women’s Golf Starts Day One at Pilot Invitational in Third

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — The Carthage women's golf team ended their first round at Bethel University's Pilot Invitational in third place among the 13 teams in attendance. The Firebirds combined for 319, just two strokes behind Illinois Wesleyan and Taylor University in first.

Kate Munro shot 74 (+2) to tie for second individually and lead the way for the Firebirds. Freshman Lorelei Oomens is tied for ninth after her round of 79 (+7), and Madi McCoy carded an 81 (+9) to tie for 15th. Alina Brindza shot 85 (+13) and Adrienne Rohwedder finished with 87(+15) to round out Carthage's scorecard.

The final round of the Pilot Invitational is set to tee off tomorrow morning at 9 AM at the Blackthorn Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
