Carthage (17-3, 11-0 CCIW) began with a 10-6 lead with a kill from Andrew Otto. After Millikin (0-20, 0-9 CCIW) got within four with a service error, the Firebirds responded with nine straight points capped off by kills from Peyton Wieter, Evan Cashen, and Otto. Carthage won the set 25-12. After the home team won the second 25-9, set three was locked at eight early on. Jack McDonald added a kill putting the Firebirds up five then back-to-back kills from Kyle Radecki and Kyle Stuersel extended the margin to 19-14. Carthage closed out the game with a kill from McDonald to win 25-21. The Firebirds wrap up the regular season on Saturday, April 2 facing Loras at 3 p.m. Head Coach JW Kieckhefer Quick Facts Jack McDonald had a match-high 10 kills finishing with a .571 hitting percentage. The 10 kills were a season and career-best. Evan Cashen added a season-best nine kills and hit .500. Andrew Otto had eight blocks in the match while Nick Cookingham had 35 assists and eight digs. Carthage wins their second-straight CCIW regular-season title with the victory.
