PLANO, Tx. — The Carthage college women's golf team opened their spring season this Saturday afternoon at the Texas Cup hosted by the University of Texas at Dallas, where they placed first of 16 shooting 305 led by senior
Kate Munro's first place individual finish.
Munro currently leads all golfers with 72 (E). Medalist Adrienne Rohwedder chipped in with 76 (+4) to land in a fifth-place tie, while Maddie McCoy shot 78 (+6) to tie for 16th. Symantha Rohwedder carded 79 (+7) and Alina Brindza 82 (+10) to round out the Firebird's scorecard.
Sami Plankey added 82 (+10), while Maggie Bahr and Lorelei Oomens shot 83 (+11) and 91 (+19) individually.
Tournament host Texas at Dallas shot one stroke behind the Firebirds and sits in second, while Trinity University shot 309 in third.
The second and final round of competition begins tomorrow, March 20th at 8 A.M in Plano, Texas.
