Firebirds Offense Shuts Down Vikings at Home

KENOSHA, Wis. — The No. 7 Carthage College picked up another straight-set victory over North Park on Wednesday at Tarble Arena.

The Firebirds (7-3, 3-0 CCIW) started with a 7-1 margin in the first set with an ace from Drew Jansen. Later, a kill from Carter Schmidt put Carthage up 12-4. Back-to-back kills from David Markes, and Schmidt pushed the Firebird advantage to eight as the home team won the first set 25-14.

After Carthage took a 7-4 advantage in the second with an ace from Markes, North Park (6-4, 0-4 CCIW) battled back, getting within one off a service error.
