ADDISON, Ill. - The Carthage women's bowling team competed in Addison, Illinois this past weekend at the 2022 Brunswick Warhawk Open and finished 12th out of 24 teams. The team was led by
Cassie Hyland who, fresh off of a conference player of the week award, knocked down 1,133 pins on day one of competition.

Day One:
- The Firebirds knocked down 5,324 pins on day one of action, including a high of 944 in the fourth game of the day. The highest single-game scores from day one included 230 from Ashley Turner in game five, 212 from Caitlin Powers in game six, and 211 from Cassie Hyland in game four.
Day Two:
- Carthage knocked down 2,668 pins to bring its tournament total to 7,991.

- Reigning CCIW Women's Bowling Student-Athlete of the Week Cassie Hyland knocked down 1,133 pins on day of competition and eclipsed the 200-pin mark twice in six games. Hyland knocked down 209 pins in game one and 211 pins in game four.
- Ashley Turner knocked down 590 pins in three games - good for a 196.67 average. Turner hit 230 pins in game five of day one.
- Jessica Rosa was second on the team in total pinfall on day one with 1,077. Rosa tumbled 204 pins in her third game of the day.
- Women's bowling will take the holiday season off before returning to the lanes on Saturday, January 14 and Sunday, January 15 for the Kegel Midwest in Addison, Illinois.
