DE PERE, Wis. - The Carthage Firebirds women's basketball team lost 64-49 to the St. Norbert Green Knights on Saturday night in De Pere, Wisconsin. The game was Carthage's final matchup in the Nicolet National Bank Tip-Off Tournament. Junior guard
Lauren Knight was named to the all-tournament team after averaging 14.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game.

- The Firebirds played a competitive first quarter, scoring 12 points while only facing a two-point deficit. The Green Knights opened the game on a 6-0 run and eventually led 10-2 before Carthage went on a 9-1 run of its' own. Margueret Spear hit a pair of triples in the opening quarter.
- The Firebirds took their first lead of the contest in the second period thanks to a Marianna Morrissey And-1.
- St. Norbert, however, brought a five-point lead into the half using a late surge offensively. St. Norbert's Kaycee Gierczak went off for 15 points on 6/8 shooting in the first half, leading both teams in scoring.
- Junior guard Lauren Knight once again paced the Firebirds in scoring in the first half of play, putting up 11 points on 3-9 shooting. Knight also dished out an assist and collected two rebounds.
- Carthage shot much better from beyond the arc in the first half against St. Norbert compared to its showing against UW-La Crosse on Friday, this time connecting on 35.7% of its three-point attempts.
- A quick 5-0 run to start the second half for St. Norbert forced a Carthage timeout. Carthage committed three turnovers in the first five minutes of the third quarter.
- A flurry of threes from the Green Knights, including three made by Emma Morrissey, extended the St. Norbert lead to 18.
- An Alyssa Orozco three-pointer and a Margueret Spear free throw cut the Green Knight lead to 12 late in the third quarter. St. Norbert took a 14-point lead heading into the fourth and final quarter of play.
- The 14-point cushion proved to be enough for a St. Norbert victory, as neither team eclipsed double-digit points scored in the fourth quarter.
- Carthage's bench scored 27 points tonight - 18 more than it scored the previous night against UW-La Crosse. The Firebirds also tripled their assist total from last night's contest.
- Lauren Knight was named to the Nicolet National Bank Tip-Off All-Tournament Team after putting up a 14-point, three-rebound, and four-assist showing tonight. Knight also scored 15 points against UW-La Crosse on Friday night while gathering seven rebounds.
- Junior guard Margueret Spear scored an efficient ten points for Carthage, shooting 60% from three on five attempts.
- Junior forward Bridget Barrett collected 11 rebounds for Carthage while also picking up two steals.
- Junior guard Addison Ebeling scored seven points and hauled in seven rebounds for Carthage.
- Women's basketball gets three days to recover and practice before heading to Milwaukee for a non-conference showdown with Wisconsin Lutheran College on Wednesday, November 16 starting at 7 p.m.
