PEWAUKEE, Wis. - The Carthage College Firebirds women's golf team finished sixth at the 2022 College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Championships this weekend at Naga-Waukee War Memorial Golf Course. Sophomore golfer
Lorelei Oomens earned all-conference honors after finishing fifth out of 46 golfers in the championships.

Abigail Bocock was named as one of the CCIW's nine RESPECT Award Winners. The RESPECT award winners are individuals that have exhibited characteristics of leadership, sportsmanship, integrity, inclusivity, and excellence- among other noble attributes. The award is extended to one member of each varsity program following the conclusion of that sports' season.

"To see the maturity and poise Lorelei showed after some tough breaks on Thursday, and then to come roaring back out of nowhere with back-to-back rounds of 76 on Friday and Saturday to grab fifth place and earn all-conference honors was fantastic," said Carthage Director of Golf
Jay Christiansen.
"Nobody outworked her this summer, and gradually her confidence is starting to catch up to her skill level. We are all very proud of how she truly earned her standing as All-CCIW."
- The Firebirds will trade the brisk, autumn air of Wisconsin for the warmth of Florida next weekend as they head to San Destin's Baytowne Golf Club for the Golfweek Invitational. The three-day invitational begins on Sunday, October 16, and ends on Tuesday, October 18. The start times for each day of the competition are to be announced.
