Women’s Golf Holds Third after Day One of CCIW Women’s Golf Championship

NORMAL, Ill. — The Carthage College women's golf team started the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Championships with a first-round score of 316 (+28) for third place at Ironwood Golf Course. Illinois Wesleyan leads the field after concluding with a 296 (+8) followed by Augustana (Ill.) with a 310 (+22).

Leading the way for the Firebirds on the day was Adrienne Rohwedder who shot a 75 on the day and currently sits tied for fourth. Madi McCoy finished four strokes behind her with a 79, sitting tied for eighth place. Kate Munro and Alina Brindza each ended day one with a score of 81 while Lorelei Oomens and Symantha Rohwedder rounded out the Carthage scorecard with first-round scores of 85.

Round two of the CCIW Women's Golf Championships begins Friday, October 1.
