JANESVILLE, Wis. — The Carthage women's golf team is off to another excellent start as they ended the first round of the Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite this Friday in first place among 13 teams. Carthage's 'A' scorecard shot 327 (+39) to land in first, finishing two strokes ahead of Aurora University in second. Carthage's 'B' scorecard shot 343 (+55) to finish in sixth place for the day.

Leading the way for the Firebirds was Madi McCoy, who carded 78 (+6) to tie for third place. One stroke behind her was Alina Brindza, who carded 79 (+7) to give her a sixth-place tie. Lorelei Oomens finished in 11th with her 81 (+9), while Adrienne Rohwedder tied for 13th after carding 83 (+11). Both Kate Munro and Natalie Hoege tied for 20th on the leaderboard after shooting 85 (+13) for the evening.

The Firebirds are back on the links tomorrow morning at 8:30 A.M. to finish the final round of the Wisconsin-Whitewater Fall Invite.
